Le choléra à Mayotte : une gestion de crise ‘’tout-terrain’’

May 21, 2024 | 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM

Description

For more than two years now, a cholera epidemic has been raging in southern and eastern Africa. It is in this context that the health authorities of Mayotte prepared for the introduction of the bacteria into the department, and for the response methods which should make it possible on the one hand to ensure secure treatment of patients, on the one hand on the other hand to quickly stem any spread of cholera on the island. The confirmation of several imported cases and a first cluster will have led to the deployment of a major intervention system as close as possible to the population, jointly involving teams from the ARS, the Mayotte hospital center and independent professionals. . This first step now allows us to draw some lessons to take into account in crisis management which could extend over several months.
